PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - La Salle junior
Devin Muracco scored the game's only goal in the 23rd minute to propel La Salle to a 1-0 victory over Ball State on Sunday at DeVincent Field. The Explorers even their record at 2-2 this season and have won seven of their last eight at DeVincent Field.
"We did a nice job bouncing back from a tough loss on Friday," head coach
Michelle Marks Salmi said. "We kept the lead and didn't allow them many opportunities in the attacking circle, so I think we did a nice job defensively."
Muracco took a pass from sophomore
Kendall Kreider on the far post and found the back of the cage for the first time this season and the tenth time in her career.
Ball State (0-4) made a late charge late but was unable to get one past La Salle junior keeper
Rachel Hartman, who had one save for the day.
The Explorers held a 9-5 advantage in shots and a 4-2 lead in corners.
La Salle is back on the road this week when it visits Rider on Sunday at noon.Â
