STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.- The La Salle men's track and field team resumed its winter season at the Great Dane Classic on Saturday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex and had four runners score points on the day for the Explorers.

The Explorers scored seven of their eight points on the day in the 3000 meters. Junior
Bradley Heuer crossed in sixth place of the 39 competitors thanks to a personal best time of 8:25.50. Graduate student
Nick Libbi was close behind in ninth place with an 8:31.79 time to earn two points. Libbi won his heat in the process. Senior
Ian Barnhill was the third Explorer to score earning one point with his tenth place finish. Barnhill ran a personal record of 8:34.25.

Juniors
Fran Ferruzzi,
Andrew Gorsuch, and
Chris Berry also ran in the event. Ferruzzi crossed in 21
st place with a time of 8:42.68, Gorsuch was in 28
th thanks to a time of 8:57.27 and Berry ran an 8:58.10 for 31
st place in the 3000 meters.

Sophomore
Nick Smart earned a point for La Salle in the 1000 meters thanks to his ninth place finish. Smart used a time of 2:30.47 for the ninth place finish. Senior
Dan Rosenblatt also ran in the 1000 meters finishing in 26
th place with a time of 2:36.41.

Sophomores
Kenneth Worthington and
Jordan Bryan both competed in the high jump and long jump on the day. Worthington finished in 12
th place in the high jump out of 27 competitors thanks to clearing a height of 1.94 meters. In the long jump Worthington leaped 6.51 meters for the 13
th place finish. Bryan cleared 1.84 meters in the high jump for a 24
th place finish and leaded a 6.19 meter leap for 19
th place in the long jump.

Senior
David Ozarowski crossed in 17
th place in the mile thanks to a time of 4:20.57. Junior
Trent Mangold also ran in the event crossing with a time of 4:54.15.

Sophomore Justine Guerre turned in strong times in both of the sprint events for the Explorers. First in the 60 meters he ran a 6.98 second time for 27
th place out of 91 entries. Then in the 200 meters he used a 22.26 second time for 23
rd place out of 68 entries. In the 200 meters he also won his heat thanks by .5 seconds.

Collin Pierlott was the top finisher of five La Salle runners in the 800 meters. Pierlott crossed in 25
th place out of 67 entries thanks to his time of 1:58.57. Classmate
Joseph Leconey was close behind in 28
th place, while winning his heat by 1.35 seconds, thanks to a time of 1:59.66. Freshman

Gregory Dix (2:01.56, 41
st place) and senior

rd) also ran in the event.

Isaiah Akil was the sole entry for La Salle in the 400 meters. Akil won his heat by half a second thanks to a 51.50 time, god for 52
nd place out of 75 entries.

Michael Hagan crossed in 1:10.25 in the 500 meters good for 44
th place. Junior
Nick Della Vecchia also ran in the event with a time of 1:16.31 in 54
th place.

The Explorers return to action on Friday as they head to the Gotham Cup and on Saturday as they run at the Tiger Open in Princeton, New Jersey.Â
