BRONX, N.Y.- The La Salle women's swimming and diving team competed in a tri-meet against Fordham and Iona on Friday evening. The women grabbed wins in three events on the day while also taking second in four more events.

Sophomore
Emma Smith grabbed a win in the 1000 freestyle thanks to a time of 10:25.94, 12.36 seconds ahead of the second place swimmer. Smith returned to take second place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:06.09, just 1.25 seconds off the pace.

Freshman
Olivia DiStefano took home first place in the 100 backstroke thanks to posting a time of 57.71, she was 3.02 seconds ahead of the nearest competitor.

Senior
Kelly Quinn grabbed the final first place finish of the day in the one meter diving. She used a score of 238.65 to outscore the field by 13.28 points. Freshman Dominique DiRenizo finished in third place with 200.17 points. Sophomore
Sydney Szopo was the top La Salle finisher in the three meters event with a total of 219.45. Quinn was close behind in fourth with 218.10.

Junior
Kaitlyn Hay took home second place in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.12, just 1.3 seconds off the winner. Sophomore
Hannah Elliott was fourth in 1:58.89. Hay also swam in the 100 freestyle placing third in 53.54 seconds, just 0.21 off the top time.

Senior
Kelsey Jenkinson narrowly missed out on the win in the 100 breaststroke. Jenkinson had a time of 1:08.16, just .05 seconds off the winner.

Junior Eva Marie Østerhus also narrowly missed out on the top spot in the 200 butterfly event. She posted a time of 2:05.82, just .09 seconds off the winner. Østerhus also placed third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.64.

The 200 medley relay team of DiStefano, Jenkinson, Østerhus and Hay placed second thanks to a time of 1:49.87.

La Salle closes out the regular season when it travels to Penn on Saturday with the meet getting underway at noon.Â
