PHILADELPHIA- The La Salle women's swimming and diving team was named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American Team as announced by the organization on Wednesday.
 
The Explorers finished the 2015 fall semester with a 3.48 team GPA. La Salle was one of seven Atlantic 10 women's teams to be honored, and had the highest team GPA of the group.
 
"Our women's team sets a great example academically, athletically and socially," said head coach Jamie Platt. "They are constantly working hard to be successful in and out of the pool. This is another great achievement and is very well deserved."
 
In total there were 149 Division I women's teams who earned the honor with La Salle finishing tied for the 30^th highest GPA out of that group.
 
Individually there were 11 women on the team out of 22 athletes who earned a 3.50 or higher in the semester including three perfect 4.0 GPAs for the term.
