DAYTON, OHIO- The La Salle volleyball team dropped a 3-0 contest against Dayton in an Atlantic 10 matchup on Friday night.

The Explorers hung with the Flyers in set one until 9-8, with Bryanna Davis and Devin Corah putting in two kills each for La Salle. The Flyers broke away when the team jumped ahead with two three point runs to hold the lead. La Salle was trumped in the first set, 25-13.

La Salle recovered in open set two and jumped ahead with a 3-1 lead, but Dayton was able to fight back to tie the game at 7-7. The teams battled back and forth for the remainder of the set, but the Flyers were able to gain control at the end of the set to best La Salle, 25-21.

The Flyers jumped ahead to grab control in set three with a seven point run to open. La Salle fought back with an ace from Kathryn Wood and a kill from Devin Corah, but was not able to close the scoring gap. Dayton took the third and final set, 25-13.

Davis controlled the Explorer's offensively, tallying 10 kills and posting one block.Corah recorded eight kills and a block as well in the Explorers' efforts.

Jensen Sharrits tallied 15 digs to lead the match, while Wood recorded 24 assists. Maya Barton matched a career high four blocks, while Catherine Edgington recorded three. Jenny Edwards and Wood also tallied two blocks apiece for La Salle.

The Explorers will face A-10 competitor Saint Louis on Sunday at 1:00 PM to continue the weekend away.
