SAINT LOUIS, MO- The La Salle volleyball team was defeated by Saint Louis in three tight sets on Sunday afternoon. The Explorers fell to the Billikens with scores of 23-25, 18-25, 20-25.
La Salle recorded a strong defensive effort to hold Saint Louis to three close sets. With
Maya Barton leading the defense, the Explorers outblocked the Billikens 8-7. Barton tallied a career-high five blocks against the Billikens.
Bryanna Davis stepped up with a season-high three blocks and rookie
Catherine Edgington posted three of her own for La Salle.
Jensen Sharrits led the match with 15 digs and Hayley Belcik added nine.
Katie Wood recorded six digs and 30 assists for La Salle at setter.
Davis paced the Blue and Gold offensively with 11 kills against the Billikens, while Jenny Edwards and
Devin Corah followed with nine each. Edwards led La Salle with two aces, while Belcik and Corah each contributed one.
The Explorers will continue the team's stretch of away games against George Washington on Friday, Oct. 28 at 7:00 PM before facing George Mason on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7:00 PM.
