FAIRFAX, Va. - Cameron Keys made six saves and registered his second consecutive shutout and three different Explorers (8-7, 3-3 A-10) found the back of the net in La Salle's 3-0 road win over George Mason on Saturday night.
"Our staff was happy with the group's performance tonight," Head Coach
Rob Irvine said after the game. "Now we've got to prepare for our derby match [next Saturday] at Saint Joe's."
Johnny Ciarlante scored his fourth goal of the season to give the Explorers a 1-0 lead in the 20
th minute of the game. Ciarlante is now tied with
Colman Kennedy for the team lead in goals. Kennedy had the assist on Ciarlante's goal.
Matt Robinson doubled La Salle's lead midway through the second half on a shot from the box set up by
Pat McCarthy.
Hayden Criollo put the game away late in the second half on the Blue and Gold's third goal of the game as McCarthy got his second assist and
Sixtus Akinlosotu grabbed a helper as well.
La Salle has now rolled through two straight conference opponents to even its A-10 record at 3-3.
Irvine's Explorers have just three regular season games remaining. The team plays Saint Joseph's on Saturday at 7:00 PM on the road.
