NEWARK, Del. -- Sophomore standout
Olivia DiStefano delivered another commanding performance as La Salle split its tri-meet with Delaware and Rider. The Explorers defeated Rider handily, 174-124, and fell to Delaware, 182-110.
DiStefano placed first in the 100 backstroke at 58.36 seconds, a spot that's familiar to her this season in the backstroke event. Elsewhere, DiStefano gained points for the Blue and Gold in the 50 free and 100 free, placing third in both. She was also on the top 400 free relay team along with
Kaitlyn Hay,
Emily Wolbert, and
Eva Marie Østerhus.Â
Wolbert placed in the top three in all four of her events on the day, finishing second in the 1000 free and 200 fly; and third in the 100 fly.
Collin Kessinger also had a fantastic day, placing first in the 200 breast (2:25.17). Â She also touched the wall third in the 100 breast and fifth in the 200 IM.
In the diving events,
Sydney Szopo finished first with the top score of 239.50 in the 3 meter and also second place in the 1 meter.
Head Coach
Jamie Platt's team will hit the pool again on November 22 in a meet with Penn at Kirk Pool.
