PHILADELPHIA- The La Salle volleyball team was defeated in three sets by Saint Louis on Friday night at the Tom Gola Arena. The Billikens upended the Explorers with set scores of 25-18,25-16,25-15.

The Billikens jumped ahead with an early lead to control set one and set the pace for the duration of the match. Saint Louis presented a strong defensive front, tallying 12 blocks to La Salle's two to stump La Salle.

Saint Louis held the Explorers down with a .296 hitting percentage to thwart the Explorers in the 3-0 contest.
Ashley Felton led La Salle offensively, with eight kills while
Devin Corah posted seven.

Katie Wood recorded 17 assists for the Blue and Gold and
Emily McCann added eight of her own to contribute to the Explorer attack.

Jensen Sharrits and Jenny Edwards added a service ace each to aide in the Explorer fight, but the Billikens proved unable to stop.

Sharrits led the match with nine digs and Hayley Belcik followed with five to lead the Explorers defensively.

La Salle will host their final game at Tom Gola Arena on Sunday, Oct. 6 against Dayton. The team will celebrate Senior Day to honor the individuals who have contribute many hours over their college career to the volleyball program with a brief ceremony before the match.
