GENEVA, Ohio-Eight Explorers qualified for the finals on Friday evening during the morning prelims during the third day of the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships.

Three La Sale swimmers qualified for the evening finals in the 100 yard butterfly. Sophomore
Jakub Bartosiewicz (48.64) and Junior
Cameron Fadley (49.19) touched in third and sixth places in the prelims for spots in the Championship Finals. Junior
Strahinja Stankovic (50.18) qualified in 14
th place for a spot in the consolation finals just .65 seconds off a spot in the Championships Finals.

Freshmen Josh Williams (51.97, 30
th place) and
Yashua Lockhart-Derry (56.80, 35
th place) also swam in the 100 butterfly prelims. Â

Senior
Johan Roth (54.86) and sophomore
Dimitrije Mladenovic (55.41) finished in second and fourth place respectively in the prelims of the 100 yard breaststroke for spots in the Championship Finals. Roth's time was an NCAA "B" Qualifying time. Freshman Josh Williams (58.04) and senior
Jonathan Cabral (58.19) touched in 17
th and 18
th places. Williams was just .03 seconds off 16
th place and a spot in the Consolation finals.

Cameron Edling (59.21, 21
st place) and freshman Alexander Holland (1:00.65, 25
th place) also swam in the 100 breaststroke prelims.

Sophomore
Fabian Bergman reached the finals in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 49.43 seconds for sixth place. Junior
Jerry Gravel touched in 13
th place with a time of 50.71 for a spot in the consolation finals. Senior Mike Stein touched in 22
nd place with a time of 53.16.

Justin Hughes reached the consolation finals in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:14.44 for 13
th place in the prelims. Hughes was just 1.2 seconds out of the Championship Finals. Freshman Jeff Pfannenstein touched in 18
th place with a time of 1:42.22. He was just .21 seconds out of a spot in the consolation finals. Junior
Mattias Glenesk (1:45.60, 34
th place) and sophomore Robert Wilson (1:51.13, 40
th place) also swam in the event.Â
