Box Score PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle Explorers dropped a 9-0 decision to the Winthrop Eagles on Sunday afternoon in the series finale at The Winthrop Ballpark. 

La Salle's Joe Monzo spoiled Zach Sightler's no-hit bid with a pinch-hit single to lead off the 9th inning. The righty fanned four over eight shutout innings to earn the win. 

La Salle starter Jorge Jimenez (L, 0-1) allowed four runs on six hits and a walk in 2.2 innings. Winthrop jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st and then tacked on three more runs against Jimenez in the 3rd. 

Billy Worswick limited the Eagles to one run over three innings of relief to keep the Explorers within reach but the La Salle bats were unable to get any momentum going. 

The Explorers host Lafayette on Tuesday afternoon in their home opener. First pitch from Hank DeVincent Field is set for 3 p.m.
