Tonny Aizpun won both his matches in convincing fashion as La Salle opened play on Monday at the inaugural Atlantic 10 Match Play at Weston Hills Country Club. The Explorers lost to George Mason, 4.5-1.5, and defeated St. Bonaventure, 4-2.

Andrew Reynolds was one down after 16 holes and sunk a 20-footer for birdie on 17 to tie the match against Eric Edwards. Neither player could win 18 as the two players halved the match. Junior

La Salle 4, St. Bonaventure 2Aizpun was again dominant in the afternoon, capturing a 6&5 win over St. Bonaventure's Brent Morgan. Acierno also had a strong performance, winning 5&3 over Pat Milkovich, while Reynolds won 1-up over Patrick Sheerer. Geiman and Markmann both halved their matches. Markmann was down three with six to play and came back to tie his match.
