Scouting the Explorers

-La Salle's home opener against Lafayette on Tuesday was postponed due to inclement weather after the Explorers opened the season with four games at Winthrop last weekend.

-Jared Mattera was named Big 5 Pitcher of the Week on Monday after throwing five innings on Saturday at Winthrop. The righty surrendered just one earned run, scattering four hits while fanning three without issuing a walk.

- Seven different freshman earned starts for the Explorers over the four games at Wintrhop. Newcomers Jared Melone and Drew Jarmuz combined for five RBI.

Scouting the Phoenix
-The Phoenix dropped a midweek matchup against the UNC Greensboro Spartans on Tuesday after being swept in a four-game series with Wright State last weekend.
