La Salle Visits Massachusetts in Regular Season Finale

PHILADELPHIA–The La Salle women's basketball team heads north to conclude regular season play with a Saturday afternoon matchup against the Massachusetts Minutewomen.

All-Time Series
La Salle has won the past six of seven meetings with UMass, including a 66-57 victory in Tom Gola Arena earlier this season The Minutewomen lead the all-time series 15-11.
 
Scouting the Explorers
-Amy Griffin was named Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 23.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in two games last week. The sophomore leads the Atlantic 10 in scoring with 18.0 points per game this season. 

-With 10 points against Duquesne on Wednesday, Micahya Owens passed Jill Marano (1,199 career points, 2001-05) for 15th on La Salle's all-time list. The junior now has 1,206 career points.

-Jasmine Alston is one of two players in the Atlantic 10 to average at least 6.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists this season. The junior leads the Explorers in both categories, pulling down 6.9 rebounds and dishing out 6.3 assists per game. Alston also leads the A-10 in steals per game (2.3). 

-Adreana Miller is third among freshmen in three-point field goals made this season with 48. The Somerset, N.J. native is second among rookies in three-point field goal percentage, connecting on 37.8 percent of attempts from beyond the arc.
 
Scouting the Minutewomen
-Massachusetts rallied from a 19-point third-quarter deficit to defeat URI 71-64 on Wednesday night. The Minutewomen scored 53 points and shot 53.5 percent in second half.

-Sophomore Cierra Dillard netted 24 points, including a career-best seven three pointers, to lead the comeback. Junior Kymber Hill also had a big night, pouring in a career-high 21 points.
 
-Bria Stallworth is the Atlantic 10's highest-scoring freshman, entering Saturday's game averaging 12.9 points per game this season.

-Rahsida Timbilla grabbed 14 rebounds against URI and sits at 987 for her career. The senior is looking to become just the second player in program history to reach 1,000 career rebounds.
