La Salle | Rhode Island

Last Time Out
Amar Stukes finished with a career-high 17 points, but it wasn't enough as La Salle fell to conference leader VCU, 88-70, on Wednesday night at Tom Gola Arena. Stukes went 5-for-9 from the floor and hit both of his three-point attempts. Johnnie Shuler (12 points), Cleon Roberts (14 points), Jordan Price (10 points) and Rohan Brown (12 points) also reached double figures on the evening.

La Salle-Rhode Island Series History
While Rhode Island holds an all-time advantage over the Explorers, the pair have been more evenly matched over the past eight matchups with both sides coming away with four wins. The Explorers have gone 2-1 against the Rams in the past three games played at Tom Gola Arena. 

Scouting the Explorers
• Jordan Price is one of three players in the nation to average at least 20.0 ppg., 5.0 rpg. and 3.0 apg. 

• Amar Stukes had a career-high 17 points vs. VCU on Wednesday. 

• La Salle assistant coach Horace "Pappy" Owens is a 1983 Rhode Island graduate and member of its Athletics Hall of Fame. He scored 1,765 career points for the Rams. 

• Jordan Price is currently 27th in the nation in scoring at 20.1 points per game. He leads the Big 5 and is second in the Atlantic 10. 

• Johnnie Shuler is ranked seventh nationally in minutes per game (37.6) and leads in the A-10.  

• La Salle has three players in the top four in minutes per game in the A-10 (Shuler, Roberts, Price).

• Jordan Price is approaching 1,000 points in his first two seasons as an Explorer. The other La Salle players to reach that milestone in is an impressive list that includes Lionel Simmons, Tom Gola and Michael Brooks, and Ken Durrett. Complete list is on page 4. 

• Price has 969 points as an Explorer and needs 31 to reach 1,000 as an Explorer. He would become the 55th player in program history to reach 1,000 in a La Salle uniform. 

• Rohan Brown, who is pursuing his MBA at La Salle, was one of 12 students selected to travel to Hong Kong as part of a 10-day travel/study course in international finance in May. 

Scouting the Rams
• Sophomore Jarvis Garrett leads the Rams scoring 12.6 points per game, assists at 4.3 apg., and three-point field goal percentage .417.

• Hassan Martin is fifth in the Atlantic 10 in field goal percentage, connecting on 58.4% of his shots.

• Jared Terrell has posted three straight games with 20 or more points, including a career-best 25 points vs. Fordham.  

• Garrett also ranks seventh in the A-10 in assists (4.3 apg.) and sixth in the A-10 in assist/turnover ratio (2.20).
