Game Notes
La Salle | Davidson

Last Time Out
La Salle advanced to the second round of the Atlantic 10 Championship thanks to an 88-73 win over Duquesne on Wednesday night at the Barclays Center.

Junior Jordan Price scored 36 points to set a program record for most points by a La Salle player in an Atlantic 10 Tournament game. Price broke his own record from last season where he scored 28 in a second round win over UMass. The 36 points were one short of a career-high set earlier this season versus Hofstra.

"It is a great accomplishment," added Price. "But this week isn't for personal goals, it's for team goals and that's to win a championship."

Last Time Against Davidson
La Salle sophomore Yevgen Sakhniuk scored a career-high 20 points in his first action since December 22 but the Explorers fell at Davidson, 79-66, on Wednesday night at Belk Arena. Sakhniuk shot 9-for-11 from the field in 23 minutes of action.

"Yevgen was just amazing for someone that hasn't played in a few months," head coach Dr. John Gianninisaid. "It really shows that a lot of his issues early on were physical."

Sakhniuk displayed his varied arsenal of low-post moves to score 14 points in the first half alone. His previous career-high was 11 points in the season opener versus Towson.

Scouting the Explorers
Jordan Price set a new La Salle A-10 Tournament record with 36 points on Wednesday vs. Duquesne. It was one short of a career-high. It was the most points scored by an Explorer in any conference tournament game since Randy Woods had 42 in the 1992 MAAC Quarterfinals vs. Fairfield.

• The Explorers scored 88 points vs. the Dukes, the most this season, and improved to 8-3 when scoring at least 70 points. It is the most points scored in a postseason game since falling to UMass, 93-90, in the 1991 NIT on March 15.

Jordan Price and Johnnie Shuler rank among the nation's most consistent three-point shooters. Shuler has made a three in 35 straight games and Price in 34 straight, which ranks them ninth and 11th in the nation, respectively.

Cleon Roberts has 965 career points, including his freshman season at Georgia Southern. He needs 35 points to reach 1,000 for his career.

Jordan Price leads the A-10 and is ranked ninth nationally in minutes per game (37.6).  He has played all 40 minutes 11 times this season. La Salle has two players in the top 20 nationally in minutes per game in the nation (Price and Cleon Roberts).

Amar Stukes has played well over the past 11 games, averaging 8.1 points per game and shooting 14-for-31 (.452) from three-point range. He has 45 assists to 18 turnovers during that span. He is averaging 4.1 apg. over that span.

Jordan Price has 86 three-point field goals this season, which is good for 11th in a season at La Salle. Next up is Ramon Galloway, who had 94 in 2012-13.

• These two teams met in the 2015 A-10 Quarterfinals, with Davidson winning, 67-66, on a Tyler Kalinoski floater at the buzzer.

• La Salle has made a three-point basket in 806 consecutive games, which is the 13th longest streak in the nation.

Scouting the Wildcats
- Sixth-seeded Davidson enters the 2016 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship 18-11 overall.

-- The Wildcats, who will play 14th-seeded La Salle on Thursday at 9 p.m., finished conference play 10-8, marking the 22nd time with double-digit league wins under head coach Bob McKillop.

-- In just two seasons in the Atlantic 10, Davidson is a combined 24-12 against league competition.

-- On Tuesday, junior Jack Gibbs was named first-team all-conference. A year ago, he was selected to the league's second team.

-- Gibbs leads the A-10, averaging 24.8 points per game, which is also third nationally behind James Daniel (Howard) and Buddy Hield (Oklahoma).

-- Gibbs also ranks among league leaders in scoring (1st), assists (4th/4.9), steals (4th/1.9), 3-point field goals per game (5th/2.8) and free-throw percentage (6th/.843).
