BROOKLYN, N.Y.-The La Salle men's basketball team fell 78-63 to Davidson in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Championship on Thursday night at the Barclays Center. Junior Jordan Price paced the Explorers offense with 23 points on the evening.

"We really played hard," head coach Dr. John Giannini said. "We were really well prepared defensively. I give Davidson a ton of credit. I'm always so impressed with their execution."

Sophomore Tony Washington tied a career-high with 16 points on the evening and connected on seven of 10 shots he took from the field. He also added a game-high 13 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season.

"We really got better in the past month," Giannini said. "All of the minutes the guys got will make them much smarter, more confident basketball players next year."

Things were tight as the Explorers were within two at 28-26, but the Wildcats closed out the half on a 14-4 run to give them a 42-30 lead at the break and Davidson wouldn't look back.

La Salle turned up the defensive intensity early in the second half and held the Wildcats without a basket for the first 6:20 of the second half. However, La Salle were only able to cut the Davidson lead to eight points at 42-34 game.
