AMHERST, Mass. - La Salle suffered through a cold shooting night and dropped its regular season finale at Massachusetts, 69-52, on Saturday night at the Mullins Center. Junior Cleon Roberts led the Explorers with 14 points, while sophomore Yevgen Sahkniuk added 13 points and seven rebounds.

UMass was led by Trey Davis, who had 27 points and 12 rebounds in his final game at the Mullins Center. Donte Clark added 17 while Jabarie Hinds had 13.

La Salle shot 18-for-64 from the field for 28.1% and was only 10-for-24 (41.7%) from the foul line.

The first half remained tight throughout until the hosts went on a 7-0 run to close the half and take a 30-25 lead into the locker rooms. 

The run reached 12-0 as UMass scored the first five points of the second half before an Amar Stukes lay-up stopped the bleeding and snapped a six minute scoring drought.

The Minutemen (13-17, 6-12 A-10) led by double-digits the remainder of the contest.

La Salle (8-21, 4-14 A-10) will play in the Atlantic 10 Tournament at the Barclays Center on Wednesday night at 9 PM. The opponent will be announced later this evening when the A-10 releases the official bracket. 

The game will be televised on the American Sports Network with local clearances to be announced this week.
