Box Score CLINTON, S.C. – The La Salle baseball team fell 10-3 to Presbyterian in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at the PC Baseball Complex.
The Blue Hose got to La Salle starter
Jorge Jimenez (L, 0-3) for five runs over the first three innings. The lefty yielded four hits and two walks before
Jared Mattera entered in the 4th inning.
Travis George got the Explorers on the board in the 4th to make it a 5-1 game, singling to right to score
Ethan Springston. La Salle added two more runs in the 5th on a
Justin Jacko single that brought in
Kevin McGowan.
Jared Melone also scored on the play after a Presbyterian throwing error.
Mattera kept the Explorers within striking distance, allowing two runs (one earned) in four innings of relief. PC scored three runs (two earned) against
Greg Paprocki in the 8th inning to push the game out of La Salle's reach.
La Salle outhit Presbyterian 10-8 on the afternoon as McGowan, Springston, Jacko and George each had two hits.
The Explorers remain on the road as they visit the High Point Panthers for midweek games on Tuesday and Wednesday.
