PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle baseball team was swept in a doubleheader against the Fordham Rams on Sunday afternoon at Hank DeVincent Field, falling 9-0 in the opener and 6-2 in game two.
GAME ONE
The first three innings played scoreless until the Rams took a 1-0 lead in the 4th and then added seven runs over the next two innings to put the game out of reach in the 6th inning.
La Salle had runners in scoring position in the 2nd and 3rd but couldn't get the timely hit before the Rams jumped in front.

Jordan Meyer (L, 2-4) worked through the first three innings before surrendering a run in the 4th and four more in the 5th.
Fordham reliever Anthony DiMeglio (W, 3-1) earned the win for the Rams with 3.1 shutout innings after starter Greg Weissert was ejected in the 5th.
GAME TWO
The Explorers outhit the Rams 13-8 in the second game of the twin bill but couldn't overcome an early deficit in the series rubber match.
Connor Hinchliffe finished 3-for-4 with a run scored while
Collin McGowan,
Joey Ravert,
Justin Jacko and
Brian Tagoe each had a pair of knocks.
Jared Melone provided La Salle's only runs with a two-RBI single in the 6th.
The Rams scored five runs over the first two innings against
Luke Reilly (L, 0-3). The lefty settled down to hold Fordham scoreless for the next three innings before turning the game over to the bullpen.
La Salle cut into Fordham's lead in the 6th as Hinchliffe started the inning with a single to center.
Brian Tagoe followed with a double to right before Melone brought the pair in with a two-run single through the right side.
The Explorers had runners on base in the 7th and 8th innings but couldn't get any momentum going against Fordham Joe Serrapica, who tossed three scoreless innings in relief of Ben Greenberg (W, 4-1).
The Explorers continue their home stand with a three-game A-10 series with VCU next weekend. First pitch for Friday's opener is scheduled for 3 p.m.
