Scouting the Explorers

Luke Reilly was named GoExplorers.com Student-Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after hurling seven shutout innings against VCU on Sunday. The lefty fanned six Rams without allowing a walk.
-Friday starter
Joey Ravert is tied for 9
th in the Atlantic 10 with 47 strikeouts this season.
-Ravert has also been La Salle's most consistent run producer, driving in a team-high 20 runs this season while tying with
Jared Melone with a team-high 17 runs scored.
-Freshman
Drew Jarmuz is tied for second in the Atlantic 10 with three triples this season. Seven of his 17 hits this season have gone for extra bases.
Scouting the Minutemen
-Massachusetts is coming off back-to-back wins, defeating Connecticut 9-5 at home on Tuesday before dropping Harvard 6-2 as part of the Baseball Beanpot tournament. The Minutemen were swept by Saint Joseph's at home over the weekend.
-The UMass pitching staff fanned a season-high 15 batters on Sunday against SJU.
-With a 3-for-4 day on Wednesday against Harvard, Brett Evangelista has reached base safely in 12 straight games. The sophomore has reached safely in all but two games this season.
-Senior co-captain John Jennings, who is hitting .337 this season, was named to the 2016 Johnny Bench Award watch list. There are 74 nominees on the watch list across Division I, with the award ultimately given to the top catcher at the D-I level.
