Scouting the Explorers
-This marks the first year La Salle has started the season 2-0 since 2012. Coincidently, the Explorers' first two opponents that season were also Drexel and Loyola (Md.).

-Opponents haven't been able to figure out goalkeeper Mike Kirk who has posted a shutout in each of La Salle's first two games this season. He has three consecutive shutouts dating back to last season. The last Explorer goalkeeper to post three straight shutouts was John McCarthy (now an assistant coach with the team) in 2013.

-Matt Robinson has scored two game-winning goals this season, both on penalty kicks. Robinson missed the 2015 season due to injury but has picked up where he left off after an impressive sophomore campaign. He has proven to be one of the Explorers' best offensive threats.

-La Salle defeated Rider last season, 2-1. Johnny Ciarlante and Colman Kennedy each found the back of the net. Both players have had at least one shot on goal in each game this season.

Scouting the Broncs

-Rider was recently ranked second in the Northeast Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

-The Broncs won their only game of the season with an overtime victory over Villanova. The game-winner was scored by senior Christian Flath, one of their most accomplished players. Flath finished second in the MAAC Conference in goals a season ago.

-Goalkeeper Ryan Baird is no stranger to shutouts, just like his counterpart. Baird registered five shutouts as a sophomore first-year starter last season.
