La Salle Travels to Davidson for Saturday Matinee

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The La Salle women's basketball team finishes up a quick two-game road trip on Saturday afternoon at Davidson against the Wildcats. Tip off from Belk Arena is set for 2 p.m.

Scouting the Explorers

-The La Salle women's basketball team executed down the stretch to earn a 63-58 road win over the Richmond Spiders on Wednesday night, closing the game on a 6-2 run over the final 2:41 of game clock.
 
-Jasmine Alston tied her season-high with 15 points in Wednesday's win to earn her fourth double-double thanks to 13 rebounds. The senior is third in the A-10 with 8.9 rebounds per game, and at 5-9 is the only player in the league's top ten listed under 6-0.
 
-Alston also ranks 8th in the NCAA and 2nd in the A-10 with 8.2 assists per game and has one of 16 triple-doubles in college basketball this season. 
 
-Ashanti Freeland had 10 rebounds against Richmond, her second double-figure rebound game this season after a 14-rebound night against Temple (11/14). Freeland is third on the team with 5.1 rebounds per game.
 
-Amy Griffin scored a team-high 22 points on Wednesday, and continues to lead the A-10 in scoring (19.8 ppg). The Atlanta native also tied her career-high with five blocks against the Spiders. Just 18 games into her junior season, Griffin is already 3rd on the all-time list at La Salle with 84 career blocks.
 
-Senior Lisa Mintzer (79 career blocks) isn't far behind, moving past Crista Rickets (2003-07) and Kathy Bess (1978-82) into 4th on the all-time blocks list with two rejections at Richmond.
 
-The Explorers shot 47.5% (28-for-59) from the field at Richmond, and improved to 7-2 this season when shooting over 40% from the field.
 
-La Salle limited the Spiders to a 21-for-70 (30.0%) shooting performance to improve to 8-3 when holding opponents to a field goal percentage in the 30's or lower.
 
Scouting the Wildcats
- Davidson is coming off its first Atlantic 10 win of the season with a 58-54 decision over visiting George Mason Wednesday night at Belk Arena.
 
-The win snapped a seven-game overall skid, an eight-game A-10 skid and a three-game home skid.

-Sophomore Justine Lyon hit the 20-point mark for the third time this year and junior Chloe Johnson hit the go-ahead bucket to help lead the Wildcats past the Patriots.
 
-Mackenzie Latt put up 14 points on Wednesday, and has scored in double figures in the last 15 straight games while Lyon is on career-best nine-game streak.
 
-Davidson head coach Michele Savage is just seven wins shy of 100 for her career.
