La Salle Hosts UMass at Noon Wednesday for Annual Kids Game, Admission is Free

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team hosts the Massachusetts Minutewomen at 12 PM on Wednesday for their annual kids game. Admission is free to the public.

Scouting the Explorers

-The La Salle women's basketball team won a pair of A-10 road games last week, defeating Richmond 63-58 on Wednesday before rallying for a 65-58 win at Davidson on Saturday.
 
-Amy Griffin was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and Big 5 Player of the Week for the second time this season after averaging 24.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks last week.
 
-Jasmine Alston averaged 12.5 rebounds per game in last week's wins, moving her into 8th on the all-time list for career rebounds with 707. The senior is currently 7th with 219 offensive rebounds.
 
-Senior Micahya Owens tied her career-high with five assists against Davidson while adding 11 points. The Explorers are 5-2 when Owens scores in double figures.
 
-La Salle held both Richmond and Davidson to 58 points in their wins last week, and are now 7-2 this season when holding opponents between 50 and 59 points.
 
-The Explorers are 9-3 when holding opponents to a field goal percentage in the 30's. La Salle limited Richmond to a 21-for-70 effort from the field (30.0%) while Davidson finished 24-of-72 from the floor (33.3%). 
 
-La Salle didn't allow a three-point field goal on Saturday for the first time this season. The Wildcats were 0-for-7 from deep in the game.
 
Scouting the Minutewomen
-Massachusetts is coming off a double-overtime loss to league-leader George Washington on Saturday after a loss to St. Bonaventure on Thursday.
 
-UMass had a 15-point lead at the start of the 4th quarter but the Colonials held the Minutewomen scoreless in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
 
-Hailey Leidel continues to lead UMass in scoring this season with 16.6 points per game while also averaging 5.4 rebounds. The freshman remains the No. 2 rookie scorer in the NCAA just behind UNC Greensboro's Nadine Soliman.
 
-Maggie Mulligan is second in scoring with 13.7 points a night while also hauling down 11.6 rebounds per game. The senior continues to rank second nationally in double-doubles with 15 - just two behind Washington's Chantel Osahor. Her 11.6 rebounds per game ranks fourth overall in the NCAA.
