Men's Swimming and Diving | January 27, 2017
PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle Men's Swimming team defeated Mount St. Mary's on Friday evening, 133-55. The Men have just one more event this year at Kirk Pool.
"The meet tonight was a key stepping stone for the teams in preparation for peak performance at the Atlantic 10 Championships," said Head Coach
Jamie Platt after the win. "We are looking forward to the opportunity to race again tomorrow afternoon."
The 200 medley relay team started the event with a win as
Cameron Fadley,
Jerry Gravel,
Fabian Bergman,
Jakub Bartosiewicz clocked in at 1:35.47.Â
Gravel, a senior, later topped the 200 free in 1:43.51 to pick up another win for La Salle. Meanwhile, Bartosiewicz finished the 50 free for in 22.10 seconds for first place.Â
In the 1000 free, senior
Mattias Glenesk finished atop the leaderboard with a final time of 9:37.68, almost 34 seconds ahead of second place. Glenesk also took the 500 free in 4:43.98.Â
Freshman
Christoff Ras placed atop the 200 IM, finishing in 1:58.43.Â
In the 200 fly, Dimitrije Mladenovic touched the wall in 1:58.98 for first place. Freshmen
Sean Barbour and
Nate Woodman took second and third in the event.Â
In the 100 free, senior Sam Odtallah took first with a 47.19 second finish.Â
The Men's team hits Kirk Pool for its last home meet when they host Rowan on Saturday at 1:00 PM. Meanwhile, the diving team will be competing at the Penn State Diving Invite all day.
