Scouting the Explorers

-The Explorers are looking to sweep the season series with Rhode Island and win their fifth straight game after defeating the Rams 70-51 at home on January 9 on CBSSN.

-La Salle won twice in dramatic fashion last week, sealing wins over Massachusetts and George Mason in the final seconds. Jas Alston's free throw with 5.5 seconds left proved to be the game-winner in a comeback win against UMass Wednesday before Amy Griffin hit the game-winning jumper with 0.7 seconds left in a 59-57 win over Mason on Saturday.

-Griffin continues to pace the A-10 in scoring with 19.9 points per game.

-La Salle had four scorers in double figures in the win over Rhody last month, led by 15 points from Griffin. Micahya Owens added 14, Ashanti Freeland had a season-high 12 points and Lisa Mintzer had a career-high 10 points.

-Alston, who had a season-high 13 assists against URI earlier this season, is 7th in the NCAA with 7.4 assists per game this year. Of the 10 players in the NCAA averaging over 7.0 assists per game, Alston is the only to average more than 6.0 rebounds per game with 9.2 rpg.

-With a win at Rhode Island the Explorers would match their longest win streak this season, which started with a 54-51 win at Dayton on December 4 and ended with a 61-56 loss at VCU on New Year's Day.

Scouting the Rams
-Rhode Island is coming off an 81-51 loss at Dayton on Sunday, and are looking to snap a 14-game skid.

-Sophomores Amari Johnson and Jalissa Ross each had 12 points at Dayton on Saturday to lead the Rams. It was the third time this season Johnson has reached double figures in scoring while Ross is shooting 50.0% (13-for-26) from the field over her last five games. .

-Rhody's Charise Wilson is second in the league in scoring behind Griffin with 18.9 points per game.

-Rhode Island is third in the A-10 with 5.7 blocked shots per game and have blocked 119 shots on the season. Rhody has blocked five or more shots in 12 games.

-Fourteen of Rhode Island's 21 games thus far have been decided by double digits, with 11 of the contests being decided by 15 points or more.
