DAYTON, Ohio- The La Salle volleyball team was topped by defending Atlantic 10 champions Dayton on Sunday. The Flyers slipped past the Explorers in a 3-0 contest with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-14.
Despite the team turning in a 31 collective kill performance, the Explorers were unable to pick up a set victory for Dayton to claim the win.
Samantha Graver led the match with 11 kills, while
Devin Corah contributed nine.
Setter
Kathryn Wood led La Salle with 23 assists on the day. Graver and
Emily McCann each picked up an ace for La Salle, while McCann added four assists. Defensively,
Rachel Carr and Corah posted two blocks apiece while Bryanna davis contributed one.
Jensen Sharrits turned in 12 digs, while Graver and
Alyssa Cianciulli tallied nine each of La Salle's 40 total. It was not enough to tame the Flyers, as they average a .340 attack percentage throughout the match.
With the loss, La Salle slips to 9-10 overall and 0-4 in conference play. The Explorers will be back in action on Friday, when the team travels to Davidson to continue Atlantic 10 competition. The first set will open at 7:00 PM.Â
