VILLANOVA - The La Salle Women's Water Polo team's (0-1, 0-1 MAAC) first contest is officially in the books. Although the team was defeated, 16-3, by Villanova (2-2, 1-0 MAAC), the loss will be overshadowed by the overall historic significance of the event.
Raquel Jimenez was the first Explorer to find the back of the net, scoring in the second quarter to put La Salle on the board.
Jenny Fermaintt would be the team's leading scorer, netting two goals in the second half.

Catherine Bowen made four saves.

Paul Macht's team will see action again on Saturday, Feb. 25Â when they travel to Erie to face four non-conference teams in two days.
