GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Explorers travel for a three game series against one of their toughest opponents this season, East Carolina. The Pirates opened the season at No. 9 in the country according to the NCBWA but have since fallen out of the rankings after losing their first three games of the season.

Scouting the Explorers
- Senior
Luke Reilly will draw the start on Friday. The left was named Big 5 Pitcher of the Week after throwing four scoreless innings and striking out seven batters last week against Butler
- Freshman outfielder
Zach Wright had three hits in five at bats (.600) over the course of two games
- Freshman catcher
Ryan Guckin hit an RBI single in his first collegiate at bat. Through three games, he's batting .333 with two RBI's and one run
- Sophomore starting pitcher
Mike Anthony tossed five scoreless innings in his first start of the year. He struck out five batters in the process
Scouting the Pirates
- Despite dropping their first three games of the season, ECU bounced back with a 10-0 win over Campbell on Wednesday
- Catcher Travis Watkins, posted a 3-for-5 performance in in his last game, driving in three runs. Watkins has been named a Johnny Bench Award Watch List candidate for the fifth season and has thrown out 4 of 6 would-be base stealers on the season
- Infielder Charlie Yorgen has started 171 consecutive games dating back to 2014. He's second on the team in average (.385) and RBI (5).
- Senior outfielder Luke Bolka leads the team in batting (.600) through 10 at bats this season
