ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The La Salle women's basketball team outscored St. Bonaventure 37-20 over the final 17:43 in a 57-45 win at the Reilly Center on Tuesday night.
Amy Griffin had 18 points and 11 rebounds to tally her third double-double of the season while
Micahya Owens and
Adreana Miller also both finished in double figures. Owens had all 13 of her points during the second half while Miller finished with 12.
The Explorers led by as many as eight in 1
st quarter before the Bonnies went on an 9-3 run to cut La Salle's lead to 16-14 heading to the 2
nd quarter. The game went back-and-forth until SBU started 3rd quarter on a 6-0 run to go ahead 25-20.
Lisa Mintzer hit a layup with 7:23 to go in the 3
rd quarter that sparked an 18-5 La Salle run to close the quarter and take a 38-30 lead into the 4
th quarter. The Explorers held at least a two possession lead for the duration.
Mintzer tied a season-high with seven rebounds as the Explorers controlled the glass 40-32 in the game.
Jasmine Alston added six boards to a game-high five assists and three points.
La Salle heads across town to visit Saint Joseph's in Big 5 action on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff from Hagan Arena is set for 2 p.m.
