CLEARWATER, Fla. – The La Salle softball team (9-6) scored four runs in the bottom of the 7
th to upend Mount St. Mary's (4-11) 5-4 on day two of the USF Under Armour Invitational.

Christina Bascara laced a two-run double to left to score the game-tying and game-winning runs to lift the Explorers to the comeback victory. La Salle entered the inning trailing 4-1 prior to the four-run rally.
Suzanne Swanicke was hit by a pitch to start the inning before
Taylor Rohrbaugh and
Emma Schweigert worked walks. Swanicke scored on a wild pitch and
Reilly Gearhart singled through the left side to make it a one-run game and set the table for Bascara.
McKenzie Peace (W, 3-2) relieved
Marlo Roadcap with two outs in the 5
th and gave up just one hit over the final 2.1 innings to keep the Explorers within striking distance
Mount St. Mary's scored in the top of the 1
st but Swanicke answered for La Salle in the home half with an RBI single. The Mountaineers took the lead in the 3
rd on a solo homer and added two more runs in the 5
th.
