CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The La Salle women's rowing team traveled to Chestertown, Md. for a pair of races on Saturday morning. The Explorers' varsity four boat took down opponents from Washington College and St. Mary's (Md.), while the varsity eight split with the two schools in its race.
La Salle's varsity four, which included sophomore coxswain Christi Gosse, sophomore stroke Jessica Lindsay, freshman Carly Dowd, freshman Logan Howlett, and freshman bow Monika Halicki, earned a convincing win over both the Shorewomen and the Seahawks.
The Explorers crossed in a time of 10:08.14, well ahead of Washington (10:47.59) and St. Mary's (11:30.81).
The varsity eight boat, with freshman Rebecca Schafer, Lindsay, senior Amanda Ryan, freshman Tara Cates, Dowd, senior Erika Gonzalez, junior Emily Finkbinder, sophomore Danielle Deley and freshman bow Samantha Donahue, finished over 17 seconds in front of St. Mary's but were clipped by Washington College.
La Salle returns home for races against Iona College on Saturday, April 8 on the Schuylkill River.Â
