OXFORD, OHIO - The La Salle baseball team (6-25) had the bases loaded in the top of the ninth trailing by one, was wasn't able to get a run acrossed the plate and ultimately lost to Miami (Ohio), 3-2.
Austin Constantini was 3-for-4 with a run, an RBI, and a double. His single in the third inning scored freshman outfielder
Zach Wright. He scored three innings later when
Ben Faso's single advanced him across the plate.
Senior
Michael Flax made the start for La Salle. In four innings pitched, Flax struck out three and allowed only one earned run.
Erik Janss threw 1.1 scoreless innings of relief. Also in relief,
Blake James threw 2.2 innings and struck out four batters.
Although a game was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday, that game will now be played as part of a doubleheader on Saturday when La Salle and Miami (Ohio) will wrap up its series beginning at 1:00 PM.
