BRONX, N.Y. - The La Salle Baseball team was defeated twice on Sunday in a doubleheader with Atlantic 10 opponent Fordham. In game one, the Rams scored four runs in the first inning and won 5-2. In game two, Fordham hit a walk-off single in the 10th inning to win the series and the game, 4-3.

After the four-run first inning in the first game, the Explorers were able to shut down the Rams' offense for the most part, allowing just one more run. La Salle scored twice in the game: First one an RBI double by Ben Faso in the third and then three innings later when Chase Arnold grounded out but advanced Kevin McGowan. Michael Flax and Ray Jackson pitched well in relief. Jackson struck out five batters in two innings while Flax threw a scoreless two frames.

In game two, the Explorers did all of their offensive damage in the fifth inning. Austin Constantini's double scored Brian Tagoe. Two batters later, Kevin McGowan doubled to score Rafael Amanau and Constantini. 

C.J. Pruitt threw a full nine innings and struck out nine batters. He allowed just five hits and two walks.

La Salle will now return home for its home opener against Delaware on Tuesday at 3:00 PM.
