LEXINGTON, KY- The La Salle volleyball team was tabbed with the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Squad honors, it was announced by the organization on Monday.
The Explorers were one of 145 Division I teams to received the honors for their efforts in the classroom in the award's 25
th year. In order to be eligible, a team must maintain a 3.30 cumulative grade point average. This year, a record-breaking 822 high school and collegiate teams were honored for the 2016-2017 academic school year.

Caitlin Schweihofer's squad has earned this award for three consecutive years, which is as long as she as been at the helm of the program. The Explorers are also the only Atlantic 10 team to have received the honors for three years running.
The team will return to campus this fall to continue their academic excellence and athletic season beginning on August 25
th at the Bucknell Invitational.
