BETHLEHEM, Pa.- In what would become her first collegiate goal, Lauren Lechleitner accepted a pass from Megan Kida and shot to net the only goal of the game in a win over Lehigh on Friday, September 1.
 
The sophomore's goal came from a deflection from a penalty corner that put the La Salle field hockey team at the 1-0 advantage during the first half they needed to leave with the victory.
 
Despite attempts from Lehigh to storm back with 12 shots in the second half, La Salle's defense limited them to a scoreless game to take the win.
 
In goal, Emma Provost emerged as a defensive powerhouse to protect the net from the Mountainhawks' 12 total shots on goal.  Provost made 11 total saves in goal, while Katie O'Grady made her second defensive save of the season in what could have been an equalizer late in the second half.
 
The Explorers improve to 2-1 on the season with the victory. La Salle will return to the turf next week, when they host Ball State at Hank DeVincent Field on Friday at 1:00 p.m.
