PHILADELPHIA -
Madison Bower's overtime goal gave the Explorers their seventh win of the season in a 3-2 victory over Atlantic 10 opponent Saint Joseph's.
The Explorers found themselves in an early 1-0 hole that would stand into the second half.
Danielle Marx scored the equalizer on a deflection during a corner kick to equalize the game at the 51-minute mark.Â
La Salle took the lead just about seven minutes later when
Maci Bower scored and made it 2-1. Bower beat a defender one-on-one and put the ball in the back of the net.
Interestingly the next goal was scored by another Bower -- the Hawks' Morgan Bower, the younger sister of Maci and Madison, giving all three Bower sisters a goal in the match. Her score tied the game and sent it to overtime when Madison scored to decisive goal.
All three of La Salle's goals were unassisted.Â
Larissa Zambelli made five saves and earned her seventh win as the goalkeeper.
Claudia Jenkins also saw some time in net.
Next up, head coach
Paul Royal and the Explorers will host Dayton on Thursday at 7:00 PM. Students - Come to McCarthy Stadium early for some food and a giveaway as part of the La Salle Fall Sports Tailgate Series!
