Women’s Hoops Plays Rhode Island Saturday on CBSSN

KINGSTON, Rhode Island – The La Salle women's basketball team is back in action this weekend as they visit the Rhode Island Rams on Saturday morning. The game will be nationally televised by CBSSN.

Scouting the Explorers

-La Salle fell on the road at Duquesne on Wednesday. The Dukes are one of two teams still undefeated in A-10 play at 5-0, just one game behind 6-0 Dayton.  
 
-Adreana Miller poured in a season-high 25 points against the Dukes but was the only Explorer to finish in double figures. The junior went 9-for-17 from the field and 5-for-6 from the foul line.
 
-Amy Griffin had a pair of steals against Duquesne, and is currently 7th in the Atlantic 10 with 1.8 steals per game.The senior leads La Salle in scoring with 14.9 points per game. 
 
-The Explorers hold a 27-6 advantage in the all-time series with Rhode Island, and swept the Rams in a pair of meetings last season.
 
-In their most recent matchup, a 58-49 La Salle win in Kingston, the Explorers had three scorers in double figures. Among returners, Griffin had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Sofilia Ngwafang had 11 points off the bench.
 
Scouting the Rams
-Rhode Island dropped an 80-71 decision at St. Bonaventure on Wednesday and are still in search of their first A-10 win.
 
-Redshirt sophomore Elemy Colome had a team-high 18 points at St. Bonnies, adding seven assists and two rebounds. Sophomore Nicole Jorgensen had 16 points in the second half to register her fourth double-double of the season with 11 rebounds.
 
-Rhody has struggled to score consistently this season, and currently ranks last in the Atlantic 10 with 55.6 points per game this season.
 
-The Rams are in the midst of a nine-game losing streak, with their last win coming over Fairfield at home on December 11.
