PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's swimming team rounded out their home schedule with a 106-80 win over Mount St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday at Kirk Pool. The stands were filled with various alumni from throughout the years as La Salle celebrated Alumni Day.
Natalie Simunek,
Collin Kessinger,
Emily Wolbert, and
Hannah Elliott combined to finish first in the 400 medley relay, touching the wall in 4:05.42. This event set the tone for the women as the Explorers would continue to have success throughout the afternoon.
For Elliott, it was the first of three top finishes to cap off a great weekend. She would later finish atop the leader board in the 200 free (1:57.87) and 200 back (2:10.27).
Kessinger also finished with three top times. She clocked in at 4:40.84 in the 400 IM and 2:27.86 in the 200 backstroke to finish ahead of the packs.
In the long distance,
Emma Capro built and sustained a comfortable lead in winning the 1000 free (10:54.84).
Emily Wolbert claimed the 200 fly (2:10.97) while
Lizzie Nadolski finished ahead of the pack in the 100 free (58.83 seconds).
The women will now compete at the Villanova Sprint Fest on February 3 at 12:00 PM. The Atlantic 10 Championships begin on February 14.
