DOVER, Del. – The La Salle University volleyball team (12-9) took down the Delaware State Hornets (2-21) Tuesday night, 3-1 (25-20, 25-11, 21-25, 25-18) to end its non-conference schedule.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
	- The first set was back and forth, seeing the teams knotted at eight. La Salle responded with a 10-3 run to take an 18-3 lead. The Hornets battled back, pulling within three, but the Explorers clamped down and took the set, 25-20.
 
	- La Salle stormed off to a 13-3 run to begin the second set. After the pair of teams traded a few points, the Explorers closed the set on a 12-8 run to clinch the set.
 
	- In the third set, the teams traded points, seeing five ties until the Hornets ended the set with a 6-3 run for their first set win.
 
	- After the teams tied things at four, the Explorers took a 13-5 run to take a 17-9 lead. The Hornets battled back into the set, however La Salle sealed the match, taking the fourth set, 25-18. 
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
	- Junior Devin Corah paced the Explorers with 16 kills, hitting .355.
 
	- Senior Madison Kuch (13), sophomore Samantha Graver (13), and junior Catherine Edgington (10) all registered double digit kills.
 
	- Junior Kathryn Wood handed out 48 assists, while nailing four kills and four service aces.
 
	- As a team, the Explorers made eight total blocks, led by Corah with three.
 
	- Collectively, the team hit .350 while it held the Hornets to .193.

The Explorers return to Tom Gola Arena at the TruMark Financial Center on Friday for a conference bout against George Washington. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
