PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University men's soccer team will stay local this week, as the Explorers take on Atlantic 10 Conference rival Saint Joseph's on the road in a Philadelphia Soccer Six matchup on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
- La Salle began its A-10 schedule at home against VCU on Saturday, falling in a 2-0 decision.
- VCU set the tone with a goal 1:30 into the game and sealed the win with a penalty kick goal in the 72nd minute.
- Freshman Fridtjof Andberg took two shots for the Explorers, while fellow rookie Tarin Morris recorded a shot on goal.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
- Saint Joseph's has been impressive on its home field this season with a perfect 4-0 record at Sweeney Field.
- The Hawks enter Wednesday's meeting at 6-3-1 overall and own a 4-1-1 mark over their last six matches.
- Saint Joe's drew a 2-2 tie with Duquesne on the road on Saturday. The Hawks led 2-0 at halftime before letting the Dukes even the score in the second half.
- The highest scoring team in the conference, the Hawks are led by Alvin Dahn, who is second in the A-10 in points (15), goals (5) and assists (5). Saint Joseph's has outscored teams 23-12 through 10 matches.
- Leon Maric is also tied for second in the league with five goals, while Ritchie Barry has four goals and two assists. In goal, Joseph Boehm has a 1.20 goals against average and a .774 save percentage.
SOCCER SIX SLATE
- Wednesday will be La Salle's second and final Soccer Six game of the season, both coming on the road.
- The Explorers came up just short in their first city matchup last Wednesday, when they pushed Villanova in a 3-2 final.
- It will be Saint Joseph's first Soccer Six match of the year.
