Madison Kuch each registered double digit kill totals as the La Salle University volleyball team (14-9, 6-3 A-10) took down George Mason (7-12, 5-4 A-10) on Sunday, 3-0 (25-18, 25-8, 25-11).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After trailing 6-11 in the first set, the Explorers rallied on a 19-7 run to capture the first set. Corah provided six kills in the opening frame for La Salle.
- In dominating fashion, the Explorers captured the second set, 25-8. After the set was knotted up at four, La Salle exploded on a 21-4 run to seal the victory.
- Similarly to the second set, the teams were tied a four apiece before the Explorers ran away on a 21-7 run.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Corah finished the match as La Salle's top scorer with 11 kills, while Kuch added 10. Corah hit a team high .435 on the day.
- Junior Kathryn Wood dished out 30 assists, adding two kills with two aces on the afternoon.
- Defensively, senior Jensen Sharrits scooped 15 digs, with junior Jennifer Edwards (12) and sophomore Samantha Graver (10) also notching double figure totals.
- Sophomore Reilly Lowe led the team in total blocks with three.
