Halftime Lead Slips Away from Men’s Soccer at Saint Louis

SAINT LOUIS - Despite leading, 2-1, at halftime, the La Salle University men's soccer team fell on the road to Saint Louis on Saturday, 4-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Freshman Sam DeCencio scored his first career goal, assisted by senior Garrett Keys and fellow freshman Fridtjof Andberg, to put the Explorers on the board first in the 10th minute.
  • Saint Louis evened the score at 1-1 on a goal by John Klein.
  • Andberg also netted his first career goal, as graduate student Mike Liska found the rookie on a corner in the 23rd minute to put La Salle up 2-1.
  • Momentum shifted in the second half when Klein tallied his second goal of the game to tie things up at two in the 69th minute.
  • The Billikens then took their first lead in the 83rd minute and later put the match away with a 90th minute tally.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Senior goalkeeper Cameron Keys set a career high in saves with nine stops for the Explorers.
  • Saint Louis had a major advantage in shots (23-10) and shots on goal (13-6).
