PHILADELPHIA – For its third road game in a week's span, the La Salle women's basketball team (0-3) will travel to Towson (1-1) on Saturday to take on the Tigers. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. with the game being streamed by the Towson Athletic Department.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle enters Saturday's game 0-3 on the season after falling to Harvard this past Wednesday.
- Sophomore Rayshel Brown is leading the team with 8.7 points per game after dropping 10 points against the Crimson. Collectively, she is shooting 41.7% from the floor. The Staten Island, N.Y. native is also second on the team with 6.3 rebounds per game.
- Junior Shalina Miller is not only leading the squad, but is third in the Atlantic 10 with 8.0 boards per game.
- Freshman Kayla Spruill is second on the team in scoring with 7.0 points per game.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS:
- Towson comes into the matchup on Saturday sitting at 1-1 on the campaign after dropping its most recent game against Wake Forest.
- Two different Tigers are posting double digit scoring averages entering the game against La Salle. Kionna Jeter (20) and Jalynn Holmes (14) are pacing Towson in points per game. Jeter also sits as the team's leading rebounder averaging six per game.
- Collectively, the Tigers are shooting 37.9% from the field, seeing five players shooting above the team's average.
THE SERIES:
- La Salle owns a 4-1 record in the all-time series against Towson. The Explorers are currently riding a four-game win streak, including the most recent matchup in 2014 when La Salle topped the Tigers, 62-49, in Maryland.
