LEWISBURG, Pa. - The final day of the Bucknell Invitational was held on Sunday, rounding out three full days of swimming and diving for both the men's and women's teams of La Salle University. The men closed the competition in fourth place, while the women finished sixth overall.
FINAL DAY MEET NOTES
- Highlighting the last competition day was a gold-medal performance from junior Marcus Forsgren in the 100 freestyle. Forsgren touched in 44.89, bettering Matthew Essing of Towson by two hundredths of a second.
- Closing in third place in the same event was teammate Norm Gregory, who scored 27 points for the Explorers with his time of 45.22.
- Also placing in the top three in an "A" final was junior Christoff Ras. Ras took third in the 200 breaststroke (2:03.33).
- In the 200 fly, another La Salle men's swimming took third as freshman Zachary Wolbert touched in 1:49.39.
- The final event of the meet saw the Explorers put together a second-place finish in the 400 free relay, with Forsgren, Gregory, Wolbert and Daniel Johnson taking part.
- On the women's side, junior Carrie Horan placed fourth in the 200 breaststroke while teammate Collin Kessinger was right behind her in fifth place.
- Another fourth-place finish went to freshman diver Phoebe Shaya, as she totaled 276.15 in the 3-meter dive.
UP NEXT
- The final dual meet of the 2018 calendar year will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 5, as both the men's and women's teams take on Lehigh at Emmaus High School in Emmaus, Pa.
- The meet is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
