PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's and women's swimming and diving teams closed out their home schedule for the calendar year with a dual meet against Penn at Kirk Pool on Wednesday. Both teams had prime performers earn victories but ultimately dropped the team competitions to the Quakers.

Jamie Platt said. "Penn is always tough, but we need tough meets at this point of the year to get better."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- On the women's side, freshman Phoebe Shaya captured 18 points for the team with a pair of wins in diving events. Shaya scored 282.08 to win the 1-meter competition, bettering second-place finisher Kaitlyn Smykowski.
- Shaya also won the 3-meter diving event over a pair of Quakers.
- Another freshman, Sara Rizzetto, won the 200 IM and junior Carrie Horan took the 200 Breast.
- In men's action, another junior, Christoff Ras, made it a clean sweep of the 200 Breast with a first-place finish.
- Reigning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week Zachary Wolbert claimed a victory in the 200 Fly.
UP NEXT
- La Salle will take a short trip south to Newark, Del. for a tri-meet with the University of Delaware and Rider on Saturday, Nov. 10, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
