Jensen Sharrits broke the school record for career digs in the second set against Dayton Friday night as the La Salle University volleyball team (17-10, 9-4 A-10) fell to the Flyers (20-7, 11-2 A-10), 1-3 (22-25, 20-25, 16-25). Sharrits breaks the 12-year-old record, formerly held by Carolyn Judge.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The teams traded the first eight points of the first set before La Salle scored four-straight points to take an 8-4 lead. Dayton battled back, to tie things at 13, before the Flyers closed the set on a 12-7 run.
- Despite the Explorers persistence in the second set, Dayton controlled the set without trailing. La Salle pulled within two at 11-13, however the Flyers sealed the match with a 12-9 spurt.
- The Flyers continued their second set success in the third to seal the match.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Junior Catherine Edgington paced the Explorers with 10 kills, hitting .500 on the night. Classmate Devin Corah was second on the team, notching nine kills.
- Junior Kathryn Wood handed out 34 assists on the match.
- Sharrits ended the match with 13 digs to hold the new career mark of 2,087.

- The Explorers return to action on Sunday as they travel to Saint Louis to conclude the regular season. First serve is slated for 1 p.m. with the match being broadcast on ESPN+.
