EMMAUS, Pa. - The sibling combo of
Emily Wolbert and
Zachary Wolbert combined to win five different events as the La Salle swimming and diving teams squared off against Lehigh on Wednesday. The eldest Wolbert won the women's 100 and 200 fly, while the younger brother, Zachary, earned victories in the 100 fly, 200 fly and 200 individual medley.
MEET NOTES
- Freshman Anne Moser picked up the first win of the meet for the Explorers, taking the 1,000 free in a time of 10:39.02.
- In addition to the Wolberts winning multiple events, junior Carrie Horan swept the breaststroke events, earning the 100-200 double.
- Also doubling on the men's side was junior Christoff Ras, also in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
- Freshman Sara Rizzetto took gold in the 200 IM, touching in a time of 2:10.68, making it a sweep of the event by the Explorers.
- In diving action, the men's duo of Steven Stasolla and Blake Griffith finished 1-2 in the 1-meter event. Stasolla compiled 288.68 points, with Griffith taking second with 259.51 points.
- The men's team dropped a 154-117 decision to the Mountain Hawks, while the women fell by a score of 164-108.
UP NEXT
- La Salle will next compete in dual action on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at Villanova. Prior to that, the two teams will head south for their annual winter trip to Florida.
