KINGSTON, R.I. – Senior
Justin Guerre broke his own school record in the 60-meter dash, as the La Salle University men's track and field team concluded the Atlantic 10 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships Sunday.
The Explorers finished seventh with 54 total points, coming within just four points of fourth place.
Guerre placed third, finishing the 60-meter dash in 6.85 seconds, eclipsing his previous record of 6.89 seconds set last season. He also finished fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.36.
Anthony Hawthorne also picked up a third place finish in the 1,000-meter run, clocking in at 2:28.15.
Zakiyy Williams placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 13.92 meters.
Nathan Gillis notched a fourth place showing as well, running the mile in 4:09.75.
Chris Sanders was sixth in the 800-meter event at 1:54.44, while
Dylan Burnett (8.45) and
Ache Hall (8.55) placed sixth and seventh in the 60-meter hurdles, respectively.
Chase Campbell finished seventh in the 400 meters with a time of 49.97.
Najee Smith was seventh in the 60-meter dash with a 7.08 second sprint, and
Ethan Cook finished eighth in the 200-meter dash at 22.81. The Explorers additionally placed seventh in the 4x400-meter relay.
La Salle will head to the Fastrack Last Chance Invite on Saturday, Feb. 24.
