PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University men's track and field team competed at a pair of meets over the weekend, taking part in the Larry Ellis Invitational and the Widener Invitational.
At the Larry Ellis meet in Princeton, N.J.,
Ache Hall,
Chase Campbell,
Ethan Cook and
Justin Guerre teamed up for a third place finish out of 10 teams in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 42.22.
La Salle had three runners finish in the top 20 in the 62-man 800-meter run.
Anthony Hawthorne placed ninth with a time of 1:50.41.
Nick Smart was 15th at 1:51.72, and
Nathan Gillis ran in 1:52.30 to finish 19th.
Hall placed seventh in the 110-meter hurdles with a mark of 15.10, while he recorded a time of 58.00 flat in the 400-meter hurdles.
Zakiyy Williams finished seventh among 15 entrants in the triple jump with a leap of 14.00 meters and was 12th out of 25 in the long jump with a mark of 6.53 meters.
Campbell finished ninth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.87, while Cook was 15th in 21.98. Campbell also was 20th out of 40 entrants in the 400 meters at 49.78 followed by
Cris Hunter at 49.82.
Fran Ferruzzi was 17th out of 35 finishers in the 5,000 meters with a mark of 14:46.15, while
Luke Jaciw-Zurawkowsky ran the 1,500 meters in 3:58.66.
At Widener,
Dom Mussoline led the way with a 10th place finish out of 111 finishers in the 800 meters, running in 1:57.42. Meanwhile,
Jordan Patterson finished 13th out of 30 in the 110 hurdles at 16.99 and 18th out of 32 in the 400 hurdles at 1:00.27.
The Explorers will head to the Penn Relays next beginning on Thursday.
